Good afternoon Cultist, I am Karl Childers and this is the What Happens in Vegas episode of Big Match Breakdown.
We crowned three new champions at Jonestown Reunion. JD Driftwood took down Max Daemon in a disgusting TaiPei Deathmatch to capture the SNUFF Championship. We had Jane Doe bury Donnie Hopkins alive to win the New World Championship. Brandon Moore was able to beat Owen Gonsalves cracking him open on an exposed turnbuckle hook to win the CU:LT Classic title.
Three Ring Barney has the only title defense so far as they were able to hold off Pandemonium, the team of Holden Ross and David Hunter.
The night was jam packed with incredible matches from a flaming table match featuring Chris Page and Lissie Hope to Jaka and Iggy Deluna beating some sisterly love into one another. We also saw another chapter in the Long - Savannah relationship as Long beat her in and Chali Crawford in a thumbtack triple threat. We also had huge debuts from Vincent Black, Shogun and Justin York either through matches or appearances. Be sure to check the replay at wrestlecult.com.
But we are here to talk about the upcoming show everyone is excited for – CU:LT’s debut in an actual area as we head to Sin City for What Happens in Vegas… on May 31.
So let's get down to it.
Weapon of Choice Battle Royal
Each person comes to the ring with a weapon of choice. Over the top elimination until the final two then deathmatch rules. Winner chooses partner to fight for Double Homicide titles at Massacre in Miami at the end of June.
Morgan vs MacKenna vs Chris Page vs Jonny C vs Squiggly vs Shogun Kaiser vs Legion vs Cypher vs Shmodka Smack vs Whole Cogan vs Ferolino vs Watson vs Cortes vs Ace Sky vs Iggy Deluna
I don’t think I have seen so much talent packed into a single match, this small battle royal will showcase some of the greatest talents across North America and the world. Shogun had a huge debut at Jonestown Reunion and is rumored to be the highest paid member of the roster as CU:LT prepares to expand to Japan. Dickie Watson is another huge name many were surprised to sign with CU:LT. From Jonny C to Squiggly the mismatch of style will make this weapon of choice match a brilliant way to kick off What Happens In Vegas…
Shmodka Smack is going to have to bring more than her mustache to this one. Each member of the match picks their own weapon to come down to the ring with. It’s a huge chance for some more established wrestlers like Ferolino who picked up a dominating win at Jonestown Reunion and put Lady Fartmout out of action. This match will also feature the debuts of MacKenna, Cypher, Cogan and Cortes.
Ace Sky will also be attempting to get on the right track after two straight losses in CU:LT but those losses he has been very impressive in. It’ll be interesting to see how he will handle his first match in the company with a deathmatch element.
Iggy Deluna has been putting on spectacular matches – but also hasn’t been able to pick up a win. Many consider her the future of the company. I’ll just take her a but to larait the doors to greatness town. She was to get a shot at the Double Homicide titles – but management hasn’t heard from partner in and out of the ring – Blake O’Reilly. Maybe this is a chance for her to win and bring her man back into the fold.
It’s a loaded match that will set the tone for the night and it’ll be interesting who the winner selects as their tag team partner to challenge for the Double Homicide Championship at Massacre in Miami in June.
Double Homicide Championships
Tornado Tag Deathmatch
Three Ring Barney vs Holden Ross and Serena Riot
Maybe Holden Ross will have a better chance of walking away with the Double Homicide Championships with a change of partner. He wasn’t able to get it done with Hunter at Jonestown Reunion – but Serena Riot already has a win under her belt in CU:LT defeating Ace Sky at Manson Family Values back at the end of March.
Three Ring Barney will have work cut out for them once again, but so far they have been proving to be CU:LT’s hardest group to figure out. The tag team roster is thin in CU:LT that’s worth admitting, but Casanova has some plans in place to bulk it up down the line. So even if Three Ring Barney makes it past this challenge there are several unexpected threats in the future.
Ouija Board Tournament
Alright, let’s go through the first round of the Ouija Board tournament. For those who are not in the know… CU:LT’s creepy shareholders tasked Casanova English with gathering the blood of CU:LT Members. That blood has been put into a Ouija Board which 8 fighters will battle in a tournament to claim. The winner will have the Ouija Board choose a prize… the possibilities are endless.
Ouija Board Tournament Round 1
Beaufort vs Max Daemon
Beaufort has made the leap from Sin City Wrestling to CU:LT and it’s ironic she finds her debut with the company in Vegas. And a tough debut it will be for The French Rose as Daemon will be hungry to pluck those pedals. Max is fresh off losing the SNUFF Championship – but I think he liked the taste of his own blood and I can only assume he hopes winning this tournament will see him get another shot at JD Driftwood. Beaufort is a rookie and is in there with an absolute vet and a savage striker. If she is able to pull out a win it might fast track her into the main event scene.
Ouija Board Tournament Round 1
Jason Long vs Adi Gold
We have a similar scenario in this next match up. Jason Long was impressive in his debut beating Charli Crawford and his ex Savannah in a triple threat thumb tack match at Jonestown Reunion. He’s just adding accolades to his career at this point and personally he is my favorite to take the whole thing. Adi Gold is the creator of the SPLAT TV Network and has been a television star most of her life – however she does have a background in combat sports first and foremost. If she is able to tap into and use some of the fundamentals she could have a chance at one of the biggest upsets in CU:LT’s short history if she is able to beat Jason Long who is arguably one of the top stars in the sport today.
Ouija Board Tournament Round 1
El Dragon Dorado vs Savannah Andrews
Savannah almost walked away the winner of her debut match last month at Jonestown Reunion but fell to the previously mentioned Jason Long. Regardless it was a very impressive debut for Savannah. She will try to hang on to that bit of momentum as she faces a lucha libre legend bringing a whole new style to the CU:LT ring. While age does play a huge factor for Dragon – that does equal experience as well. It may not be enough to deal with Savannah though. A lot of the blood used to create the ouija board is hers… and I am sure she is determined to not bleed for nothing.
Ouija Board Tournament Round 1
Antonio vs Charli Crawford
The last match of the night in the first round of the tournament will feature Charli Crawford and Antonio. Crawford had a hell of a debut being sandwiched in a thumbtack love triangle against Long and Savannah at the last show. She proved her gritty background allows her to hang with some vets in the industry. Being a officer in prison will toughen you up pretty fucking quick. Antonio has been cutting his teeth in the industry for about the last seven years. He was trained by wrestling legend Cecil Lavigne. With his background in dancing adding impressive agility this one is tough to call – but whoever wins this one also has a good shot at going all the way.
Dog Collar Match
Jaka vs Lissie Hope
This right here is CU:LT’s first grudge match… things were kicked off between the two on social media when Jaka responded she wanted to kick Hope’s face upon Lissie signing with the company. It kicked off a war of only words at this point with Lissie usually poking fun at Jaka’s teeth. Since these two have been barking at each other English decided there would be no better way to deal with things than a dog collar match. Hope has yet to take a loss in CU:LT and Jaka has not been pinned or submitted. This could be a precursor to a shot at the New World Championship if either woman plays their cards right. Jaka has maybe match of the night at Jonestown Reunion with Iggy – but Hope is hungry after only being able to fight to draw with rival Chris Page in a flaming tables match. This one comes down to not only who wants it more, but who hates each other more. This could be a rivilairy revisited for years in this company and I’m excited to see who writes the first chapter at What Happens In Vegas.
Cheese Grater On A Pole Match
Win by making your opponent submit via cheese grater, or pin them – only after they have been shredded.
Mason St. Croix vs Justin York
I know Mason St. Croix is a pretty sick fuck, why York was so excited to get into a cheese grater war with the man I will never understand – but one thing is for sure both men are likely to come out a bloody mess. I understand there is some history between the two – but here in CU:LT the violence will come to a whole new level. Mason is a former IWF Heavyweight Champion, has a military background and a dark dark past to say the least. His father was hung on national television for fuck sake. This guy has no problem going to violent places. York calls himself the Casino Kid and fittingly because he will be gambling with life in Vegas. He was a force to be reckoned with in the Tennessee territories and if he can cash in on that experience when he returns to the ring at What Happens In Vegas… it would be a literal jackpot for the kid’s career.
SNUFF Championship
Russian Roulette Match
Six boxes surround the ring, five of which are duds – one is loaded with barbed wire and a small amount of C4. Use your opponent's body to find it!
JD Driftwood vs David Hunter
JD Driftwood is already cementing his name in the history book of CU:LT. He had the match of the night when he lost to Owen Gonsalves at Manson Family Values for the Classic Championship in a hard fought battle. Then at Jonestown Reunion Driftwood was able to capture the SNUFF Championship in probably the most brutal match to date when he and Daemon ripped eachother’s faces off in a Taipei Deathmatch. Hunter is no slouch when it comes to the deathmatch game, and I’m sure he is more than excited to get back to it after taking that loss alongside Ross against Three Ring Barney at Jonestown reunion. Hunter has been impressive in every match and now he is being rewarded with this unique match. There is a little bit of a luck element here with this one and being in Vegas a perfect setting for a possible title change.
CU:LT Classic Championship
Brandon Moore vs Vincent Black
Vincent Black pretty much followed Moore to the company and I don’t know if he really wants the fight he has been looking for. Sure Black had an impressive debut completely dominating Caleb Hart – but he did attack the man from behind before the match. I guess I can’t fault him for doing what he had to do to start off in the win column here in CU:LT. Moore did the exact same thing. He marched in this company and yanked the title from one of the hottest talents in the industry today – Owen Gonsalves. Moore cracked Owen’s skull open by backdropping him onto an exposed turnbuckle hook. Moore is showing he’s an innovator of violence and he is hellbent on proving he’s not just a man who can do wild brawls and gut people – he is a proficient professional wrestler. This will be one that has the ingredients to be one of the hardest hitting matches CU:LT has ever had. I can see it taking a strong style direction and to be honest I don’t know who that will work to the advantage of.
New World Championship
Highway to Hell Match
Pin or make your opponent submit, then toss their body into the casket in the back of a hearse and drive to the graveyard outside the area.
Jane Doe vs Donnie Hopkins II
Not even a grave can hold Donnie Hopkins down – no he and Jane Doe have something in common, seemingly returning from the dead. Hopkins was buried alive in Guyana but he rises again in Vegas. This time it’s Jane Dow who walks in the new New World Champion. The battle was so even last time it’s hard to say if the title run of Jane Doe will be a long one. But if Hopkins wants the title back he is going to have to pull it from her cold dead hands – literally. We can only expect a harder fight than we did last month and we will see if this is the end of the two battling or if down the line we have the potential to see Hopkins vs Doe III.
