The Book of CU:LT - How It Came To Be
On the surface Combat Unlimited: Lethal Trials is a wrestling and martial arts entertainment company created by Casanova English and the cult following he has gained through the years of competing around the world. This is a company aiming to change the conventional standards in professional wrestling. The company aims to give a platform to everyone, from deathmatch wrestlers to technical submission artists. The goal isn’t to compete with other companies… It's to create an entity all on it’s own where all classes, genders, demographics come together to share the brutal and beautiful vision of what modern day warriors truly look like and have been through.
However how CU:LT came to be isn’t as easy to explain.
Casanova English is the son of a notorious serial killer. The discovery of his father’s heinous crimes led to his mother’s drug addiction. English tried to take care of his family the best he could, in his late teens he moved in with his grandparents and continued to keep an eye on his mother while going to journalism school. English as a fairly successful young columnist, but when his grandfather’s sickness got really bad he was the only one left in the hospital by his side. He had to pull the plug.
That moment shaped English, it made him resent family, made him think he was the only one capable of doing the difficult things and when he decided to join the world of professional wrestling he started to gain a cult following fans -- taking some under his wing -- mainly Alex Ransom a drug addict he would help get clean and find himself -- rebranding his life as Bash Daddy. English called his group The Orphanage.
The group moved beyond wrestling as a modern day Project Mayhem from Fight Club -- it engaged waiters, cabbies, truckers, various blue collar workers who helped move the supply chain and had limited access to the elite. Using The Orphanage, it’s alleged English found his father in prison, entered, and had him killed.
A Detective has been dedicating the last half decade of his life -- English has manipulated him -- even used his high school sweet heart as a pawn to feed false information, but when his girlfriend Sara provided tapes to The Detective, booby-trapped to catch fire... it caught The Detective off guard and because of his drunken state he was killed in the blaze.
This of course angered The Detective's son, Special Agent Hancock, a crooked cop deeply ingrained into the American political system. Hancock had Sara killed, rocking English and proving he has the power to do what he wants. Hancock has muscled English into starting a company to help launder money for crooked cops, politicians, the business elite…. Probably English’s biggest fear… but he has no other choice. He will write the checks in fake wrestlers names, and the people overseeing called The Board will bankroll the operation.
It’s been said The Board all hides their identity by wearing animal masks and have monthly meetings with English on the state of CU:LT.
Needless to say, Casanova English has no other choice but to ensure the venture is a success.
