LOVE.
Where did you go wrong, Alice? How did you become the evil you are now? What made you into the monster? I've asked myself that question every day since I first met you. How could you be the polar opposite of what I am?
The sound of a newborn child was a gift to the world. The carriage rocked back and forth of a beautiful baby girl wrapped in a pink blanket in an empty wooden room next to the fireplace, where the fire would do its best to match the warmth of this child's heart. Serenity stood beside the carriage leaning over it with her chin resting on the forearms staring in awe at the pure beauty of this newborn. She twisted her hat backward on her head and fluffed her leather jacket watching the child with her eyes and looking at the name 'Alice' imprinted on the stitching of her clothes.
You were born into this world on a clean slate. A gift from the God himself above us, and you were a new light brightening everyone around you. Alice Gemini. Your name was supposed to be of positivity, love, respect, and purity. Instead, you constantly beg for everyone's attention and always have to proclaim that you're the rightful leader. A heroine to all. Why are you so obsessed with enforcing your beliefs on people when you're the anti-christ of them all?
Her hands reached around the baby's body, gently caressing the tender flesh, and picked her up in my arms, wrapped in the soft blanket. Serenity held her close to the bossom of her breasts and stared into the greenish eyes, almost tearing up.
I imagine this is how your mother held you in her arms when you were born—the perfect position to breastfeed you and nurture you. You had a mother who loved you more than mine did. I envied you for that, and you used that pain to drive evil into my life. With my mother's traumatic history, you burned my entire spirit down, but what about your father? Where was he in your life?
The door slammed open to the child's room, and a man stood in the doorway with an empty alcohol bottle in his right hand, leaning against the wall with a belt in the other. Serenity took a step back, holding the baby tightly as the drunken bastard charged forward with ill intention to harm them both. She pulled her child close to her and braced for impact but felt nothing at that moment. The man had disappeared from reality. Serenity looked around frantically until walking through the door to an empty, distant hallway nearly shrouded in darkness.
It makes perfect sense. You are broken by the man who pissed you out of his penis and kicked you out of the home. Your mother couldn't stop him, and it haunted you forever. I thought we would bond together over the pain of abusive parents, but you chose the opposite. You let your jealousy of my former relationship with my father be the catalyst to dig that knife of my mother into my skin that you have successfully separated us. Everything you've done to drive that wedge between us became fruitful, so congratulations, Alice, you did it. I commend your infernal rage for making everyone hate you, but it doesn't end there.
Serenity walked down the hallway; each step was loud and echoed sporadically; the cold air shivered the child for a second, but she held her close for body heat. Then, after a few moments, a light flickered on above them. To her side, a beautiful portrait of Alice Gemini holding the Women's Championship from Action Wrestling over the fallen body of Serenity appeared. The baby cooed and laughed, but she remained cold in her stare with a blank facial expression.
The most genuine moment of your life. The one time we saw Alice Gemini purely happy at the expense of my downfall. That's what true happiness looks like. You were smiling from ear to ear after accomplishing what you set out. You took everything away from me that one night and made the whole world watch. I cried and prayed to God it wasn't real, but it was. You made it a reality, and I swore vengeance ever since.
The bloodied knife from their Last Women Standing rematch was removed from her back pocket. Serenity's eyes were glued to the dried blood-stained metal, holding the blade's tip to the baby's face. Her right hand shook as the child stared back at her. she could have pulled the trigger and ended it before Alice was even born, but she couldn't. She dropped the knife and kept walking forward.
I could have ended that night if it wasn't for my father intervening, but I couldn't. I don't have the killer instinct you do. I was enraged and still couldn't drive the knife down your throat, even with all that anger. For a long time, I resented being pushed past that point. I hated you more for being under my skin and in my head every day. Death was too easy for you. I wanted you to hurt as much as I did, so I did the only thing I could that you would understand.
A door almost shredded across the wooden structure at the end of the hallway as her right hand held onto the rusty doorknob before turning it to open it. She stepped out on the porch of the abandoned house to the snowy forest before her, where men were cloaked hoods awaiting her arrival. Serenity held the baby close to her chest again, staring at the men being silent and still in the terrible weather.
You've always been an attention whore. Everything always had to be about the people. You spent day and night trying to convince the world you're the rightful person to lead them, yet you burn your ears when they chant my name over yours. I always believed you hated me because my life was better than yours, but now I understand that hatred is jealousy. You've longed for the world's attention, but their eyes have always supported my claim over yours. Finally, you had no choice but to attach yourself to me like a parasite. Oh, sweet Alice, how the mighty have fallen from grace.
Her feet dragged against the thick snow as the followers split in half, creating a path for her. Under the moonlight, she kept walking through this snow-covered forest, holding the baby tightly to her chest. Finally, the figure followed behind her and reached a specific tree with a cage next to it, but at the roots, a bottomless hole led to nowhere. They formed a circle around the tree, and Serenity took a knee staring at the cage and then at the baby in her arms.
And here we are, Alice. The end of your story. The rabbit that would have evolved into an angel is now forced to sink into the hole she will never escape. You could have been a mother, a role model, a heroine, or the queen that you preach you are. You could have been so much more than this, but you've been at the corner of my mind trying to infect me with your evil. You almost succeeded, but I will send you away this time because you fear being forgotten. You hate my name, erasing yours from history, so you do everything to destroy me and build your kingdom on my ashes. Not anymore. You've failed, my sweet little Alice.
She kissed the child's forehead and rested her chin on its head. Serenity opened the rugged cage and placed the baby inside before locking it. What made the moment more intense was the child started bawling, making it even harder to do what she did next. She picked up the cage and placed it on the sinkhole, the tree's roots moving swiftly to wrap around the pen until slowly pulling it down into the darkness. Serenity stood up, watching the baby's descent and hearing the screams fade into complete silence, the visual of the cage fading into nothing until the moment was utterly silent. Her eyes stared upwards at the moon, wondering what next could be done, then spun on her feet to see the men gone.
I am alone, but I've come to a realization—an epiphany. The world is just a mere image that can be manipulated by those with the power to do so. So, Alice, I'm going to show you what it means to rule a kingdom by those who are devoted to you out of love, not fear. Of course, you are pathetic in believing anyone could ever love you because you don't love yourself, but all that will change in this new world. Because the truth is, Alice, I love you. I genuinely do love you. It boils down to one simple fact.
I am the New World.
In the middle of this open forest rested the New World Championship belt with her name engraved. Serenity walked towards the beautifully designed belt reflecting the moonlight and held it within her grasp. She gently placed it over her right shoulder and smiled, knowing the time would come to be undisputed. However, her demeanor changed to a focused position understanding the war she would be battling. This was her moment to prove to the world that she was ready to be a world champion and an undisputed one.
"You are nothing more than a distant memory to the world. You've done so much to drag me down, and it's funny how we stand champion versus champion, but at Ladder Day Saints, I will prove that I am undisputed. How many times have you thought about me, Alice? When I first came to CU: LT, you couldn't even fight the urge for a second to attack me. When you smelled my blood in the thin air, you were drawn like a moth to a flame. The entire emotional tirade was invoked in you, so you made the biggest mistake when you attacked me. Where has that gotten you now?"
"I beat you fair and square to retire the FIGHT Championship. I put you to sleep, but CU: LT saved you. They took mercy on you and put us together to erase JD Driftwood's dead carcass from history, but you couldn't handle the fact I was going to become world champion. You had to attack your name to mine as you always did and pretend I wasn't worthy?"
"You've never been worthy. You've followed me like a peasant and had the nerve to call yourself a queen. You're a low-bottom feeder pretending to sit with the masters, but you've never proved yourself worthy to be where I am."
"I made you!"
Her voice boomed through the forests, and the winds shrouded her in a cold, snowy fashion. Serenity's courage and dominance controlled her surroundings, turning the forest into her domain. The coolness felt the power rushing through her veins, her spirit's evolution proliferating as she claimed her undisputed championship reign. She knew within her heart this would be the defining moment in her career.
"Everything in your life has been born from my blood. You've garnered all your success from the fall of my defeat. But what happens when I face you in that Triple Cage Match and toss your body from the top as you barely touch the belt with your fingers? What happens when you look upwards from hell and see that I have become the Undisputed New World Champion as your supposed 'fans' cheer my name? You know deep down that is your future to come. You can't fight the inevitable, so why try? It eats you alive, Alice. You've feared the inevitable future of Serenity Holmes putting an end to the all-feared Alice Gemini, so you fight it. I'm bringing Ragnarok to your life!"
"You've disrespected my family, friends, boyfriend, and late mother. You've humiliated and ruined me in front of the entire world."
"But here I am, Alice."
"Here I still am."
"I didn't survive you. I overcame you."
"I've finally overcome you, and it eats you inside. This time, I'll end you. You'll fade from the world and become a forgotten soul burning in hell. All those who loved you will never remember you, and all those who hate you will praise me for ridding you from their minds. You are the plague that has ruined the world, which is why I have to become the undisputed world champion."
"Alice. You're far too gone to be saved, and I no longer hold any hatred for you. You are a pitiful person who has fallen into evil so hold onto the relevancy you have now. Enjoy your days as a champion, for it ends after this. It ends with me standing above you as the undisputed champion. My life has overcome you and gotten stronger, which is why this match means more to me than it does to you."
"I fight for everyone. I fight for the people. I fight to show that you can win no matter what you go through. I've beaten you before, but I'll do it this time to prove that I am the better wrestler and person. So Alice, bring everything you have in your arsenal and all the evil you can. You will know one thing and one thing only."
Serenity holds the championship belt and stares at her reflection before looking at the moon. She takes a deep breath and walks forward but halts herself to look over her shoulder where the child had fallen into the abyss. Then, with blissful intentions, she looks ahead with a smile.
"You are done. This is over. When I win, I will never see your face again. I will never hear your voice again. I will never feel your touch again. I will get my family back and live a better life. I'll be married with children and be in a hall of fame. It's whatever the future holds but you, you'll be gone forever."
"Goodbye, Alice."
"Enjoy your wonderland."
