ENTRANCE THEME
ENTRANCE DESCRIPTION
Effortless grace. An astute, respectful glare towards the audience. He does not care whether they cheer or boo. In fact, invoking indifference is actually more impressive to him. If he can inspire indifference and a steady disposition from all, that would mean he reached his lifelong goal of ataraxia. He's been trying for over 2000 years, but he hopes this time will be different.
He poses on the top rope, but only to further assess the audience. He does not showboat nor gloat.
WRESTLING STYLE
Brawler/Technical
STRENGTHS
An immensely sharp intellectual mind. Brawn cultivated from training with some of the world's greatest historical olympians. A resolute determination to never give up in his overall quest.
WEAKNESSES
Quickly gives up when times get tough. Rather try talking his way out of a fight than actually fight. Horny all the time.
BASIC MOVES
Punch, kick, clothesline, chinlock, headlock, sleeper, vertical suplex, reverse vertical suplex, chop-block, dropkick.
SIGNATURE MOVE(S)
Powerslam, fallaway slam, short-arm clothesline, crossface chickenwing, fujiwara armbar, german suplex, superplex, running backbreaker (preferably getting a head start from outside the ring...ideally from the beginning of the entrance ramp).
FINISHING MOVE(S)- limited to 2 please -
Socratic Method (Package Piledriver)
WEAPONS:
Absolutely not. Unless Pragma counts (it's not clear if women count as full human beings to Episteme, but he certainly still respects them, sort of, in an abstract way)
PAST ACCOLADES
OTHER ACCOMPLISHMENTS
NOTABLE FEUDS
NOTABLE MATCHES
Episteme's mostly been used as an enhancement talent all across the world, primarily North American and European wrestling scenes. That said, he occasionally gets to shine and win a match when the bookers just can't take him calling them anymore to discuss completely unrelated matters. He firmly believes it's time to step up and be something more.
BIOGRAPHY
Episteme (meaning knowledge in Ancient Greek) alleges to be over 2400 years old, emanating from the golden age of Athens; the era of Socrates, Plato and Aristotle.
He doesn't claim to be a supernatural being; indeed, he'd argue to the best of his abilities that there appears to be no evidence of such things (there also appears to be no evidence for evidence or for why we should take the concept of evidence seriously, but that's another matter entirely). However, he believes he's only persisted in living this long because it's his destiny to find out the true path to ataraxia (approximated as 'happiness' from Ancient Greek, but better described as general calmness and contentment). Once he finds it out, he plans on sharing it with the world. Teaching it as best he can. Transcribing it so it's as durable as can be. Only then can he depart from this Earth.
He also could be completely full of shit. He majored in philosophy in college (his most recent run at college anyway, as he would say he's been enrolled at college at least 500 times in his very long life), which means he couldn't find a job when he got out. Then he worked at various fast food establishments, coffee establishments and finally as a strip club owner. The existential dread overcame him, however, and so did his need for both moral and financial improvements. Some friend of his at college told him to go into this wrestling thing. He thought it sounded pretty cool. Indeed, he always liked watching the olympians go at it in Greece and Rome. Besides, perhaps the path to the truth couldn't be obtained intellectually. Perhaps he had to fight for it. Perhaps he had to learn the truth not by thinking, but by doing.
Episteme, much in the spirit of his good friend Socrates, relishes in walking around and pointing out logical inadequacies in everyone's points of views. He wanders the streets and engages with as many seemingly knowledgeable men and women as possible. Often he gets beat up. But that's another reason he took up wrestling, the art of fight. This relatively new life of his has benefitted him in numerous ways.
Alongside Episteme is his everlastingly loyal muse, Pragma (Scarlett Bordeaux), who totally didn't work at his strip club in the past. Throughout history, she's been right there with him, hanging on his every interlocution. She believes her journey is intimately tied to his, and that's why she remains to this day. When all else fails, she's there to converse with him. To make love to him, so that he forgets about his longing for something culturally inappropriate and deeply immoral that used to happen in his hayday with mass societal approval, but does not anymore. Pragma makes Episteme whole. She's also useful for when he unwittingly gets into fights and she can either seduce their way out of it, or be used as a body shield.
