*The scene opens up with Atlas leaning against a red, brick wall, he’s wearing faded, ripped, blue jeans and a disturbed T-shirt. He moves his hair out of his face and begins to talk.*
Who is Atlas Moore, this is a question I get asked constantly, primarily by people who can’t fathom my obsession with professional wrestling, and the answer, well, it’s really simple…I don’t know. Without professional wrestling, I am a nobody who should have died on the streets in Reno when I was a kid, but this business saved me because, while most of my classmates were forced into selling drugs and shooting up heroin to find their next buzz, I was traveling the world, attempting to make a name for myself…this business saved me, and that’s not something I say to make you care about me, it’s something I say because it’s the goddamn truth! But that’s not relevant to the match, that’s not what you guys want to hear, you want to hear what Atlas Moore has to say about his opponents…and we’ll get to that…I wanted the world to know what drives Atlas Moore because it matters when that bell rings…but I’ll look into my opponents on Cult TV…starting with Noah Ortega.
*Atlas moves away from the wall, fully standing this time and begins to pace as he talks about Ortega. He looks down the barrel of the camera.*
Noah Ortega, the leader of the lost…cute. Your entire premise is that you’re this leader, a beacon of hope for those who choose to follow you. You’re the “Leader of the Lost Generation” but what does that mean when those who stand in the ring with you don’t give a damn about your message…you see, I’ve seen a billion wrestlers just like you throughout my travels, men who claim to be leaders of a “lost generation” who carry themselves like the Charles Manson of the wrestling business, but once that bell rings, they can never get the job done. Calling yourself a “hard worker” means nothing to me because we have all worked to get where we are today…we have all made the towns, beaten ourselves down, and broken our own psyche’s for this profession…YOU’RE NOT SPECIAL! You have had to “sacrifice” so have I, you’ve had to kill yourself in small-time venues, so have I, you’ve been on an excursion around the globe, SO HAVE I! The only difference between you and I is the fact that I don’t go around spouting the most basic messages in an effort to get people to follow me…I don’t try to recruit others into my group…because I don’t need one. I don’t need people watching my back, I don’t need people around the ring to look intimidating…you know what I do to be intimidating…I WRESTLE!
I set foot in that ring and begin to beat whoever is across from me and that’s all that matters, I’ve done it around the world for years. FROM THE AGE OF 16 I HAVE PUT MY BODY ON THE LINE FOR THIS…and I don’t intend on stopping for some half-baked David Caresh who believes he can lead this company into the next generation…I’m here to show the world that “The Unwanted” is going to be the top draw, whether they like it or not. I have proved myself all over the world…Japan, I’ve beaten legends, Canada, hurt people, Mexico, unmasked superstars and sent them into retirement, I have made my name by crushing dreams and your dream of being a leader…no different. I have nothing other than Pro Wrestling…I don’t have a family, I don’t have friends, I only have professional wrestling…and come Cult TV, I’m going to show “The Lost” that their leader is nothing more than an overhyped nutjob that can’t keep his fucking mouth shut! So, Noah, be ready when you step into the ring with me because, I promise, you’re going to want to put all the hard work into this match, because, if you don’t, you’re not making it out!
*Atlas leans somewhat on the brick wall behind him, his voice becomes quite a bit softer…he moves the hair out of his face.*
But, while we’re on the subject of “lost” let’s talk about Miss Salem. Salem, darling, I’m sorry all that happened to you in your past, trauma is a bitch…but I’m not sure if you’re ready for this match…I’m not sure if you’re ready for the physical pain that I can inflict upon you and Noah…but, I admire your courage…I admire your sticktoitiveness…but I cannot be held liable for your therapy after this match. Trauma has caused you to venture out of your comfort zone and enter this business with wide eyes and a fast-beating heart…but what happens when you can’t take this anymore, what happens when your entire mindset is shifted by the bumps…what happens when you become just like me…maybe you already are…maybe this business is kind-of like the song “Ugly” by The Exies…maybe we’re all a little Ugly, in our own rights. Now, I know you’re still fairly new in this business, probably to your detriment, but I promise that it will jade you, it will force you to be jaded to the world around you, forcing you out of your comfort zone and causing you to never understand where the line is. Salem, I want you to listen to me very carefully, I don’t want to hurt you, God knows many people have done that already…but I cannot be held accountable for what happens when you step into my domain. I can’t be held liable for what happens when that bell rings because I’m only doing the one thing that has made me…addicted to this business. That’s right, I’ll admit it, I’m addicted to this business…while my classmates were off getting high, I was busy fighting, I was busy training…I have put everything into this business and I can’t seem to walk away…but that’s been my life…some things you just can’t quit…and my vice is professional wrestling.
*Atlas takes out a pack of cigarettes and lights one up, after a couple small puffs, he takes it between his two fingers and begins to speak again.*
You see, sacrifice seems to be a major concept amongst all three of us…whether it be the sacrifice of others…or ourselves. You fled your old life to pursue healing…I fled my old life because I had nothing else. You are a smart girl, Hell, you’re probably twice as smart as I am…but there is one saying that I heard as a kid that plays into this thought process, “if you’re gonna be dumb, you gotta be tough,” and that’s where I stand. I’m not a great guy, in fact, I’m a bit of a scumbag, but at least I can admit that…I’m a dick, but that doesn’t mean I want to ruin a poor girl’s pursuit of healing…I understand that mission…but Salem, I want to warn you, before you step into this ring, you’re going to see some terrible things…in fact, you’re going to feel pain that may not be the same pain you’ve felt in the past. This business isn’t for the faint of heart…and to me, it seems that’s how I can describe you. You’re going to step into this ring and realize that there’s a reason I can’t quit, there’s a reason that THIS is the only thing that has brought me peace…and then you’ll soon realize that this business isn’t just a fight…it’s a way of life.
So that’s why I’m stepping up and will gladly break you two down, this is MY LIFE…and you two are standing in the way of a junkie’s next fix…you’re in between myself and my next high…and I will stop at nothing to get my next fix. So, Noah, Salem, one of you I respect, the other I don’t…but I want BOTH of you to remember one thing before this match…This is my life, this is my passion, this is everything I have…and when an animal has nothing to lose…it will stop at NOTHING to gain what brings it life!
*Atlas leaves the shot, taking another drag as the scene fades to Moore’s logo as his theme song begins to play…after 10-15 seconds of the song, the logo fades to the match card before the song and screen both fade away.*
