The best way to do anything in life is to put yourself in the most abstract of places. Here I am working for this very creepy promoter Casanova English I know I’m a different kind of cat as they say, being in this business we all are, the great part to that is his vision works. the atmosphere of the show so far from my experience is there’s a haunted vibe though it is not based in horror, smoke and mirrors special effects Hollywood movie, inside it is very ritualistic, spiritual like a temple and a dojo, the vibe just fits well with who I am, it is a perfect fit. Before I left, I did my tradition of finding the camera crew and giving them their props, they are never given the proper recognition at all in public by companies, they should be.
It’s always interesting the characters you run into backstage. For instance, the backstage interviewer Karl Childers. I went up to him.
Ace: Hey, Karl how’s it going?
Karl’s face lights up with being treated nicely
Karl: Good, uh great! Awesome match tonight!
Ace : Thanks man, is it cool if we do an interview , we can post it online.
Karl: That is a really good idea, sure.
Karl Childers: I am here with Ace Sky, one of the recent signees, he made his debut tonight, how are you feeling after that match?
Ace Sky: I am not going to sugar coat it or ignore the fact that I lost, there were some shenanigans , it’s wrestling and you should always expect the unexpected , so really that’s on me. I did have a wonderful time, I love the atmosphere of the arena, to be able to open the show was fantastic too. It is common to desire to go on first or last, those are the two best places on the card, I have become known though by being someone you can put anywhere on the card , win , lose or draw fans are gonna get their money’s worth. They may not be coming to see me, once they see what I do they will come back to see me again.
Karl Childers: You seem pretty hyped up still, does that happen after matches, you still keep the energy ?
Ace Sky: It depends on how the match goes though for the most part, in recent years I try to stay in an equanimous state
Karl Childers: What does that mean, what’s an equanimous state?
Ace: Equanimity is calmness and stillness, being completely centered. There’s a story to describe it best: there’s this samurai and he has to go after a bandit, a renegade guy causing problems in town so the samurai has handle business. He goes to the local tavern and the guy is an unsavory character of course, he goes into the tavern and the samurai asks if he is who he is and the guy goes “ yes, I am” and the samurai goes “ I’m here by order and I’m here to enforce this order.” And the bandit looks up at him and spits in his face. The samurai immediately goes red , stops and walks out. Then a week later he comes back and the bandit goes “ You came back , ya want to come have a drink?” The samurai goes “ No, I’m here to finish my business” and the guy spits on him again.
He goes “ What are you going to do now?” The samurai takes out his sword and goes schwoop(makes sword cut gesture) , dunks his head off one slice puts it back in , he expected it the second time so he didn’t act with any emotion. He didn’t attack with his emotion, he attacked with his calm pure training, if he had tried to attack the guy the first time when his equanimity had been altered, he would’ve acted impulsively, he goes to grab his sword and the bandit grabs his arm and it would all go wrong.
Karl Childers: That’s really fascinating. You’re very interesting because you mix philosophy with science, right?
Ace: I enjoy both, I really do need to clarify , the philosophical stuff, the third eye it’s not a religious thing, religion and philosophy are different in that to get to that state of consciousness and transcendence, philosophy is the better way to go in my view. Philosophy plays four dimensional chess with consciousness while religion plays checkers with it. I feel the most in that spiritual, holistic place when it comes to pro wrestling and when it comes to martial arts as well. I view pro wrestling as a martial arts style , I take a very shamanistic approach to it.
My parents are physicists, at a very young age, very soon after infancy I got interested in outer space and pro wrestling, I would love to travel in space, a pipe dream fantasy I have is being the first person to wrestle in space. I was just very lucky through a mix of coincidence and working on two dreams at a young age I have succeeded in one enough.
Karl Childers: What is your main goal here now in CU:LT?
Ace Sky: The Cult Classic championship is pulling me towards it. That’s the championship I am going after.
The CU:LT Classic Championship rings true to its namesake. It’s for those who put on technical wrestling clinics, brutal brawls, sexy submissions and perfectly executed athletics from the top rope. It’s the title which represents the purest form of wrestling always taking place under standard wrestling rules. That’s what I do, I am the best pure wrestler not just in this company, not just in this country, not just this planet. Universally, intergalactic, multi-dimensionally, that title belongs to me, Ace Sky.
Karl Childers: I don't know if you've seen yet but your opponent this week is Legion? Any thoughts on your second match?
Ace Sky: She's impressive, we have a few traits in common, she can bring all the back up she needs, I am not going to let her stop me from becoming the second CU:LT Classic champion
